Summary Judgment Granted in Police Shooting Case
Our attorneys obtained summary judgment in a police shooting case which had received significant media attention. The officer was conducting a traffic stop, when the driver attempted to flee, with a gun in his hand. The officer, fearing for his own safety, fired his weapon, fatally wounded the fleeing driver. We moved for summary judgment on the ground that the use of the deadly force was reasonable under the circumstances, which was granted.
