Attorneys
Jesse Gutstein is an attorney with Hartzog Law Group. Originally from Hewlett, New York, Jesse grew up a lifelong UNC basketball fan and ultimately attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate studies where he majored in Political Science and Sports Administration. Throughout his time in Chapel Hill, Jesse interned with both the Business Office and Legal Counsel for UNC Athletics.
Following his undergraduate studies, Jesse attended Elon University School of Law. In law school, he served as a member, and later Membership Editor, of the We The People Constitutional Law Journal. Jesse also served as a member of Elon’s Moot Court Board and competed in several Moot Court competitions.
Prior to joining Hartzog Law Group, Jesse served as Associate General Counsel at the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association in Raleigh. In that role, he assisted sheriffs and their staff across the state on a broad range of legal issues, including firearms law, First Amendment and free speech issues in the public employment context, and general public employment matters. He regularly responded to a wide variety of legal questions affecting law enforcement agencies and public officials throughout North Carolina.
Outside of his practice, Jesse enjoys attending country music concerts, traveling, and spending time outdoors hiking and camping with his fiancée, Hannah, and their dog, Banks.
