Kailey didn’t take the usual road to a law degree. Originally from Atlanta, she began college as a Division II softball pitcher at Young Harris College before a knee injury ended that path, eventually leading to her earning her bachelor’s in political science from the University of West Florida in 2015. After undergrad, she worked as a paralegal in Washington State, supporting attorneys in criminal, family, estate, and civil litigation matters. She then stepped away from her career goals for several years to raise her two children while her husband focused on his career with the United States Air Force. As her kids grew more independent, she went back to school, earning her Juris Doctor from Campbell University School of Law in 2026 and picking up the Book Award in Administrative Procedure along the way.

Kailey’s path through law school leaned hard into government and education work. As a Certified Student Attorney with Campbell Law’s Richardson Family Education Law Clinic, she worked to assist families through the IEP and Section 504 administrative process—work she brings a personal edge to, having spent years advocating for her own children’s academic accommodations long before ever advocating for other families professionally. As a legal intern with the U.S. Army JAG Corps at Fort Bragg, she researched federal criminal procedure, FOIA compliance, and procurement and ethics regulations, and prepared internal memoranda advising unit commanders on proper protocol for procurement, outside partnerships, and industry access. She spent a majority of her law school experience as a research assistant to Campbell’s Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Academic Success, researching Title II, Title III, Section 504, and ADA compliance in post-secondary institutions.

Outside the office, Kailey is a mother and an unapologetic Dallas Cowboys fan. She enjoys weightlifting and spending time with her husband, their two kids, and their two labrador retrievers.
