CITY OBTAINS SUMMARY JUDGMENT AGAINST EMPLOYEE’S TITLE VII RETALIATION CLAIM

Anna Davis obtained summary judgment in a federal action brought by a City employee. Plaintiff alleged that the City terminated him because he engaged in protected conduct under Title VII. The Middle District of North Carolina granted summary judgment in the City’s favor, finding, in relevant part, that Plaintiff could not produce enough evidence to convince a reasonable jury that the City acted unlawfully when it terminated him for job performance reasons.
